RACE 1 :
Our Classic Clubmans series is halfway thru its season. Knutstorp saw 20 Class A and B cars take the grid
with ONLY 1 DNFs at the end.
In A, Paul Nadeau held a narrow lead over Rob Thaeler to take the top podium spot, with new driver Marc Farre completing the top three.
In B, Mark Carty showed the way with Jan Sproule in second and another new driver, Jonny Senna coming in third.
Senior driver Dave Bradley took the elderly crowd's checkered first with with points leader Aaron Page coming in second. Great drive all!

Hard Chargers:
This has to be some kind of record! FIVE drivers each moved
up 5 spots during the race: Marc Farre, Mark Carty, Jan Sproule, Aaron Page and Norm Borczon all gained five positions at race end.

On lead lap at finish, 8 cars. One lap down, 8 cars.

Six Seniors competed, top Senior finished in11th place.

Top ten drivers represented 5 different countries and 8 different Teams.

RACE 2:

In Class A, Rob Thaeler and Paul Nadeau took up where they left off in the first race with Rob finally getting around Paul and winning with less than a 1/2 second to spare! Points leader Jose Casanovas took third.
Class B saw Jan Sproule taking a well deserved win with newcomer Jonny Senna placing second and Mark Carty coming in third.
In the Seniors division, Dave Bradley completing the evening sweep as he once again tooK the senior checkered first, well done Dave! Second in Seniors was Dave's teammate Earl Setser in his best drive yet.

OVERALL STANDINGS, CLASS A:
Halfway thru our season, Jose Casanovas (Spain, 2 wins) continues to lead with Mark Urban (USA) still in second. With his win at Knutstorp Paul Nadeau (USA, 1 win) moves into third while 2nd race winner Rob Thaeler (USA, 1 win) improves to fourth in points. Fine finishes moves Cory Linton into the top five.

OVERALL STANDINGS, CLASS B:
Brette Brooks (USA, 1 win) continues to lead with Jan Sproule (Canada, 1 win) moving into 2nd. Mark Carty (Jamaica, 1 win) maintains 3rd while Senior Dave Bradley (USA) holds 4th with Conor McCarrell (USA, 3 wins) slipping to 5th.

TEAMS

CLASS A:
MNRL Motorsports is at the top of the Class A Team standings with 25 Motorsports in second and Blanco Motorsports in third place.

CLASS B:
Scuderia Internazionale is in the lead with FnC Racing in second and Scuderia Internazionale, just one point beind FnC, in third spot.

SENIORS: Aaron Page maintains his Seniors lead. Thanks to his double wins at Knutstrop, Dave Bradley has moved up four spots to take over second place. Steady driving keeps
Rich Dozier in third in the Senile set points roster. Good driving moves Nick Picciotto to fourth and Earl Setser to fifth place in the standings.

I'd like to thank Time-Warner for my amazing run last night...but I can't...cause the Jackwagons Internet service cut out 4mins before the start and the session was locked by the time I could return. #@%$&%$#@!!!!!

Perhaps the difficulty of the Knutstorp track kept some drivers away, we had our smallest field in some time. But those who raced were rewarded with a great track, technical, hard to pass, yet prompting a lot of close racing.
Cudos to Paul Nadeau and Rob Thaeler, winners of races 1 and 2. These guys must have been exhausted when the evening was over, they were so close the entire time! In B class, congrats to Mark Carty and Jan Sproule who won 1 and 2 respectively. Seniors saw a sweep by Dave Bradley, well done sir, cudos !
Congrats to new drivers Jonny Senna and Marc Farre, both of whom presented themselves and their driving skills quite nicely. Welcome, guys!

This was my first race in Clubmans, having missed the first two evenings. Fun cars, sturdy construction (I found that out the hard way) and good competition.
Race 1 I moved up five spots which was gratifying. I chased Dave B. and Aaron P.for many laps til my own mistakes did me in. I got together with Liam, no one's fault, just a racing deal, close hard racing. In race 2 I really screwed up, crashed, ended up at the back of the pack. so it goes...

We have reached the 1/2 way point in this series, and many championships are still being hotly contested with many drivers having a chance to move up during the last three evenings.
See you next week in Formula Atlantics at St. Jovite, and in two weeks, back in Clubmans at Croft!

Sorry I had to bail guys, my net connection failed on me a minute to go to the race and wasnt fixed til 5 mins after the race started :(

Apologies for the no-show. Last minute computer problems forced me to restore two partitions from a backup which took forever.
Goiong to be away for the next three weeks so will be re joining the MNRL again in November.
