Historic F1: Monaco (Euro)

That was really hard going. From about lap 2 onwards my steering was off-centre but I was determined to finish in case others dropped out. Which turned out to be a brilliant strategical move! I knew the Tyrrell wasn't the fastest car in the bunch but I think it's quite fun and knew that at Monaco it probably wouldn't matter too much.

OK here we go:

At start i was just pissed off because the agressiveness of Sam and seems that i was just too late on brakes in T1 and hit him. Sorry Sam.
Lap 2 I was behind Vova and realized too late that he was on slower lap times and that he was braking a lot earlier than me, I hit his rear at apex. No doubt, my fault and I am very sorry about that Vova.

I made a total fool of myself today. Don't know what it was, I wasn't even tiny bit nervous. I still can not believe I spun it on formation lap again, on the same place, and then even worse I overshot 1st corner starting from pole.

Qualifying:
I made one more mistake in qualifying, overshot it in my first attempt touching a wall on the outside of "Mirabeau", therefore clocked only 1:27.4. I had to be more conservative in my seconds attempt as I needed low 26 that would very probably put me in top 2 or 3, I did that, drove 1:26 flat, which was to my surprise enough for pole. There was low 25 in store but couldn't risk it.

Race:
Made a totally idiotic move in lap 1 approaching "St. Devote", braking too late, therefore I had to use run off area, while I was stopping it I damaged rear right suspension. That made me very happy.

Somewhere around lap 10 Vova spun on the worst possible place, "Massennet", I slowed down very much, but was just tiny bit too fast and I hit Andre who collided with Vova hard. Great now I had damager front left suspension too. To go straight I had to steer left a bit.

I remember some SA bloke said if you damage suspension around Monaco you can't finish, well I damaged both front and rear and finished and drove 27, once. :p

Shame really as I had high 26's to low 27's in race pace, but I have shot myself in the leg, and I have no one to blame but myself. Idiocy at it's best.

That one race less than my opponent, as in nGTx too, costed me dearly, but as I said I can only blame myself.

Craig, I was eating dinner, the timing didnt work out again. And actually, you are way out of date, I did a 25.7 in practice. But Roman was quicker, he did a 25.4 ;-)

And I have absolutley no idea what you are talking about with your comment about Sam ?

That was a disappointing season end event. Only 8 people turning up.
So I already knew I couldn't lose my third spot in the ladder, and 1st and 2nd were within reach IF there was a full field, but hardly likely with so few there.

But that didn't overly matter because when I joined the server the car was like an ice-skate once again. I couldn't get within 0.8 to 1.0sec of the offline Race and Qual car times, but more importantly it made it extremely dangerous and there was pretty well no way I would be able to survive a race unless I drove at 90% pace or something.
I adjusted things as best as I could but once the grip is gone there is nothing that can fix it, all you can do is balance out the car as best as possible.

I assume there was a server stuff-up with no Formation Lap. That actually suited me as I charge out to do fastest possible laps right from the pits every practice so cold tires don't bother me. Though it was going to make my car even worse to deal with. So I was hoping for, and expecting, some good crashes in the first lap. And if that affected Enis and/or Roberto then I had a chance to move up the ladder.

But whilst they both did get affected a bit, it didn't do much of use. Enis dropping back but with almost no one in the race anyway that meant that as long as he finished it wouldn't help me. The only SLIM (zero?) hope was to chase Roberto and see if any pressure could make him error and mess up his race. But with my car as it was, there was that near zero chance of being able to even create that pressure anyway.
And in trying to stay with him I lost the rear end in a corner and clipped a wall and damaged it. Then the next time into turn 1 the car just slid straight through the turn into the wall and wrecked it.

Which was a good thing, to save me wasting 40 minutes for a futile cause anyway! So I went back to bed. lol

no craig it acctualy gave us a bit of a laugh that your reading every post-race disscusion me or scott are in looking for cheap shots at us *laughs* :P
