Estoril 120k

Well,shit happens,but i seem to have borrowed a trailer full lately,lol,must run in cycles.Les,that really wasn't your fault,that stationary car really put me offline,so you could have continued,thks for waiting anyway.Just all these little niggly things happening lately keep dropping me down the points tables.

Very nice race, chasing Claudiu through the first stint. Passed him in the final lap of his first stint, with his tires clearly damaged. Lost in the pits and chased him again, passing him when he spun. Unfortunately I had no chance against the Viper of Kent, but I'm happy for my first podium in my first ever race on R2P.

Congrats Kent, Pete.

Interesting race for me...qual'd second behind Kent in his crazy-fast Viper, and managed to establish myself in P2 in G3 for most of the early stint, pulling out a decent gap on P3 in G3 until I was knocked into the gravel at the next-to-last turn by a damaged G2 car and fell back to fifth or sixth in class.

Tommy Gunn saved my race, though, as I found myself in a great fight with him for most of the second stint. It got a little rough at times, but was still good fun.

I managed to make my way back up towards the top in G3, but was punted, again, in the next-to-last turn on the final lap, by the same G2 car that had done it in the exact same corner earlier in the race. Apologies to Claudiu, who I pulled out of the gravel right in front of...I thought I could get out of the gravel trap faster than I was able to, and after the contact-heavy race I had had, I didn't want to give away any more positions than I already had due to other's mistakes. Claudiu showed a great deal of class and gave me room to escape the gravel, and we had a good drag race down to the finish line. Thanks Claudiu - I defintely owe you one.

Well a ruff race for me qualified 2nd and did what i thought i would never do being i consider my self patient while racing,Sorry again pete for the punt wasnt intended i guess my brakes were to cold for the straight speed i had.So i did my drive through and drove the best i could to catch backup but time ran out im happy with 2nd. Great racing all.

That was a load of fun. I'm glad I had the opportunity to fill in this morning. I didn't realize how much fun this Sim is to drive. I may have to revisit the race again. My driving is perdy' rough but you guys really showed patience with me...thanks a bunch. Gave Pete a perdy good case of whip lash after the pit cycle when things stacked up in traffic. Sorry Pete...glad ya' kept it going and didn't loose you position. Anyhoo.....thanks for the racing...Who has more fun than we do?

Another last minute decision to race. Ran about 20 minutes in the Z3 but it was dreadfully slow and knowing I would be running much to fast in the GT3 I decided to give the Viper a try.

The thing couldn't turn while accelerating which made the final turn horribly slow, but it had very nice straight line speed. After a few adjustments I went out to qual and just snuck in before Garry Hedrick thinking I had just gotten pole. Turns out Garry was in a G2, but I didn't know that until on the formation lap I let him pass me, oh well.

Race was insteresting, I started in 8th but actually 9th since I gave Garry the spot. In just a couple laps I found myself in 4th. Then when 2 lead cars got together ahead I managed to pass into 2nd? That was short lived as Pete quickly made up the time and made an easy pass.

Knowing Estoril is horrible on tire wear and the fact that we were running 2x I opted to 2 pit. After my first stop I thought I had made a very bad choice as I dropped deep into the order. But in the end it worked out fine.

Had some nice dicing with BMW's, don't know why since that car should be killing the Viper Comp but anyway it was fun.

Didn't particularly enjoy or deserve that one. A very messy few early laps, starting when Les bumped me at T1 on lap 1 (no worries, Les). I lost 3 spots, whilst Les duly perfomed his drive-thru in accordance with new policy. Not sure I agree with this rule, if I'd spun out and dropped right to the back then maybe. Unfortunately, it robbed us of what would've been a great race.
A few laps later I'd made my way back up to 2nd on the tail of Markus when we had a coming-together at T6. At first, I thought he had moved (warped) onto my line, but on reviewing the server replay I clearly saw the fault was mine. I'm really sorry, Markus, I hate to ruin another guys race. I guess maybe I was driving too aggressively after the earlier incident and simply didn't allow you enough room or make allowances for my damaged car.
