Weirdest race EVER!!!
Jumped straight in after the PLMS race, didnt really get a chance to get used to the monster that is the Viper before qual... so obviously I was SHOCKED to get pole! Didnt feel fast at all, but I'll take that any day of the week, especially up against the likes of SuperKlint ;-)

The race start was... interesting. I knew the Viper was going to be very marginal on fuel, so I literally idled the pace lap in 6th gear to save gas. Got a good jump at the start (looked like the exhaust from my car was pushing the Porsches backwards, such was my advantage down the straight!!!). Of course, I hadnt warmed either brakes or tyres on the pace lap, so took a trip through the sand at T1. Oschersleben is great for that though, and I lost little or no time.
Lap 2, the tyres still wont get up to temp (one of the major disadvantages of the Viper), and Kent runs into the back of me and spins me in the last turn. Dont worry about it Kent, I'm used to it by now ;-)
Quickly recovered but totally lost track of what position I was in, so I just drove. Managed to catch and despose of Roberto Massa pretty quick, and pulled away. I think I was in the lead, but I'll have to check the replay!!!
Had to conserve a lot of fuel through the stint, eventually pitting with a spluttering engine at exactley the 30 minute mark (not before a stupid 10 second spin on the pitlane access road though!!!). Came out, again with no idea where I was, and chased down Mr. Lamont ahead, and he very graciously let me passed on the s/f straight (I guess he didnt take tyres or something...). From then I conserved fuel like CRAZY and breathed a MASSIVE sigh of releif when the leader passed me with two to go, and crossed the line with one (yes, one) litre of fuel left! Then I quickly exited to check my position, and let out a cheer when I noticed I'd won!
Phew, what a race!!!

Really nice to get my first R2P win, the race itself was uneventful after Condu span off on lap 1. Thanks to those I had to pass for some nice driving, especially Kent who had to avoid me after letting me through when I overcooked it on the next turn on my worn tyres.
I was really lucky that the Steward did a restart after the jump start because I went when I saw Condu go and I would have had a stop/go, that really made up for the bad luck in this series so far.

Had 2nd place in G3 wrapped up with 4 mins to go, somehow screwed my fuel calc. up & had to pit again. My pit stops & strategy are killing me!

I got spun out and decided to pit early since that lap was going to be slow anyway.Only problem was it was too early and I ended up having to make a second pit stop.That pretty much screwed me there.

2nd ever race with GTR2, and I am just trying to keep out of everyone's way again, finish the race, SO I THINK, only to see the stupid effing game give me a DNF?

I don't gets it!

Big congrats to Darren Adams on his first victory, well done mate, you were flying out there today.
As for me, made a last minute decision to join this one and it looked like it. I had some fun though, better then doing house cleaning on a wonderful Sat. afternoon.
Barry K, wasn't sure what happened in the triple left but is was probably not the best place to make that pass attempt, my car was still settling and not sure if I did cause you to go off, if so, many apologies, just not a good place to lift in the Porka, again sorry if it was me.

I had every intention of making this race. I got up this morning and decided to put in the new E6850 C2D (processor) that I picked up 2 days ago thinking it's only gonna take 30-40 min to change out and I have over an hour before race time. Well, the BIOS didn't like the 1333 FSB and wouldn't boot. After a couple of phone calls and a new BIOS flash, we were able to get it up and running, but by this time it's 11:05 local time and race time at 10:45.

I finally had a good race but bad pit strategy. I ran in the 6-8 position all race, but messed up the pit timing and didn't finish as well as I ran.

Had a good race going since i really didn't have a setup was signed up for G2 and waited for the dieing moments to get in So i unregistered and registered for G3.Had fuel set for 1.08 but with 3 laps to go im close to empty so i pitted ,trying to make up from the extra fuel stop i lost it and hit the wall got back on the track to have my pc lockup.so a good race turned into a crapy race for me congrats to the podium.
