Well, I should have pitted and taken tires with everyone else.
Also, it did not seem that some caution causing incidents pulled the flag. Back to the drawing board.

Interesting race. Guess I was hearing the old NR2003 spotter say "whoa, whoa". Pace lap start was faster than I anticipated and at the caution line-up i slowed too much to read some long message from the steward and Eric and somebody had a wreck because of that. Sorry guys - won't happen again. Might have been in position for a top 5 but took a 360 but did not hit the wall. Hey Tim, a top ten is a top ten! Not expected on an oval....Oh yes, many thanks to Bill J. for the Fontana CB set-ups.

Well Tim I thought that went well for the most part with the yellows and guys knowing what to do.In around lap 10 or so my team mate in 2nd lost his car in T3 the yellow came out i think when i went in3 again,not sure need to look at replay.At that point i dont think i was really keeping my head in the game ,becuse i should have pitted with my teammate(he was P1 I was P2)I saw him going in but i stayed out.But as soon as i thought about it.It was to late.Restared in 1st but i think he took me bye T3.Then came kev my other teamate who now also had fresh tires(but a lap down)took me.Now i think it was lap 15 or so and Ben came up into my view.He too had pitted,I did not even try to hold him much knowing i would need what tires i had left to hope to hold on to 3rd.Well around lap 21 P 2 lost it also in T4.Was happy to take a 2nd.......GOOD WIN BEN!!!..Had nothing for you without pitting.But I tested my tires can go 25 laps..

Interesting outing - not sure what to make of these things just yet. DL'ed Bill's sets (thx!) and did a few laps with them, and they were as advertised, a tad tight. So I took a turn of wedge out and raised the trackbar a click on both sides (which turned out to be a bit much). Also dropped the right side RH since Motec said it had room and I figured that would get the spoiler lower on the deck.

Race went OK, and Jim in particular and I had some good racing both before and after the pit. He was pushing me hard early and as a result I was starting to toast the right rear and having to use op-lock off T2. Not good since that's the key corner to a fast lap here, so I had to back it off a bit and keep the tires under me.

Pitted when the yellow came out, and planned to take just enough gas to go and no tires. Which went OK, other than my sitting still in my pit for about 47 seconds waiting for someone to say go or something. But it never happened; the guy with the pitboard was just standing there, and I finally got tired of waiting while everyone else was gone so I took off. Checked the fuel and it seemed to have gone in, so I wonder why I didn't get a call to go - IS there one in rF? Never pitted in rF before so I don't know. Man I suck at pitting!

Somehow managed not to lose a lap, but was at the back on the restart having lost so many spots in the pits. Race went OK after that, just trying to find the balance between speed and tire conservation since I hadn't taken tires (though I had enough time on pit road to knit me a set!) Caught Bill right at the end so a podium spot would've been in reach with another lap, although he may have just been nursing it in.

This was my first try at stockers out of NR2003 since NSR(which lasted about a week on my HD). This mod's pretty good, but it's gonna take some serious garage time to be competitive. Yellows appear iffy too since there were plenty of occasions when you would have expected them but got nothing. Also, I didn't notice the damage settings going in but did notice a couple of times when cars got in too deep, slammed the wall and came out of the corners having gained on me from it. Pinball style racing would not be something you'd want to encourage... ;-)

I do run in another league with the tpscc mod and love it and found out the hard way that any chance to get fresh tires you need to, well it works most of the time depending on the track. The cars need a balanced set up not to tight or loose and when you work on sets do a complete fuel run. My set when from real good and the begining of the run to tigh in the middle to llloooosssseee at the end. You just gotta keep an eye on those tire temps and drive accordingly I came from nr03 and since this came out don't run it much anymore, just takes some time getting use to it. I hope r2p runs a season with the tpscc, I will be there as much as i can.

RE a signal to leave the pits: unfortunately, there's not any that I know of other than watching the pit timing board. When you get into your stall, there will be line indicating the total time needed for our service, and it will display the running elapsed time. As the ET approaches the estimated total time, be ready - as soon as that elapsed time ticker stops, you're ready to go.

Tim, sorry for the late entry to the track...still getting the time thing figured out since DST....duhhh...in my frenzy to get in and update the rfm, I grabbed a dev set from track testing that was total and complete junk (note to self - use the delete key more often...).

Whether the yellow settings are too relaxed depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for 'reality', then yeah, they are too relaxed - however, if you are looking for an environment where single car spins don't precipitate a caution, but multi-car incidents do, you are getting closer (and I think that's what R2P may be looking for now?).

What some may feel as exit loose may indeed be the results of an earlier push in the car. Particularly in 1-2, I could watch the RF temp climb faster than the RR as soon as I got on the throttle - it was obviously trying to slide the nose but at that point the car felt OK. Later in the exit, the nose finally grabbed, causing the car to pivot quickly - that's the loose you feel. While seeming backwards, making changes to free the car at rotation in the middle of the corner may actually alleviate the loose condition. And the aero dependency of these cars makes this an even more complexdeal - lowering the RS ride heights will decrease the rear downforce as expected, but depending on lots of other factors, can also change the dynamic rake enough to lose downforce on the front as well - increasing the push you may be trying to get rid of... As one crew chief stated, when these cars are balanced, they drive well, but are on a razor's edge: just a little off that edge, and the fall is steep...

I think it went well. The modified rFm seems to provide a fair racing environment and gives the event a chance to be enjoyable. Last nights race was a good simulation because the participants showed good car control, patience and judgment. Good job everyone!
