G2 Sprint

Well...
That was my first welcome series race. I can't believe I got the pole and won the race! I had a lot of practice in the Bi-Turbo and found it to be the easiest car for me to drive. Had one off that brought me to a halt nearly just after turn 4. Getting too far off the gas got me into a little bit of trouble. Once the car started sliding there was no recovery because i got off the racing line. Had one more slight bobble, but made it through without a scratch. A lot of good clean racing out there tonight.

Drove the Bi-turbo in the G2x race at Oscher last week and did very well, except for a stupid oversight on my part. Decided to try the welcome race since my stats are so low. Had no idea I would pull off a win. I'm not sure how long the rest of you guys have been racingon R2P, but I saw a few familiar names from the end of the S4 GTopen series.

Well...hope I can make a couple more podiums. I am hoping to be a top 5 competitor by the end of the season in the main Open series.

WTG Don, pole and win. Never looked back!

Here's the start of the race. Join up, time counts down.... (no red lights).... GREEN! cars just about ran me over- I don't blame them but did anyone else not see the red lights flash before we got the green?

I agree the start was funky, I assumed the countdown would finish and then the lights would start. And I think I was right behind you on the start, and I apologize for running into you at the start. /sarcasm/ I have been watching F1 for years I should have known better /sarcasm/.

I had second place and then for two laps in a row I could not focus on the race at all. I started thinking about how cool it would be to finish in second place, that I had to go to bed soon etc. etc. etc. and then I lost control on the left side dip in the road coming out of the turn 4-5-6 complex.

After my screw-up, I put my head down and tried to do fast, consistent laps and if I just would have had a few more minute I would have taken 3rd.

I had a great time, and every race I do I seem to get better.

Well this is one race that I'll remember for awhile. I was so happy I did so well in practice and in Qualifying (I managed to get 2nd at least a few times before coming to rest in 3rd place during qualifying). I guess I was more nervous than I thought I was when I spun at the first turn. If I hadn't spun the 3-4 more times I might have finished alittle higher. Oh well. I guess it wasn't too bad for my first online race even though I finished last and was lapped by the top 2 people. I would have been lapped by 3rd and 4th spot if the race didn't end when it did.

Congrats Don. You earned it. If I didn't do that spin at the beginning I might have been up there with ya.

Thanks for helping me setup the Bi-turbo Don and Ray. I'll brake a 1:30 with a little more practice. Too bad I blew my start by spinning out. For a while there I thought I could catch Jim. Congrats to Ray for driving very consistently and not making any mistakes. Glad to see the Bi-turbo can take on the M3 - good job Don!
