Race summery...for me at least; GO...nudge...bump...spin...pits...stop & go..go..go faster...pits...serve penalty...go..go... oh no Au Rouge...spin....crash...flat tire..rev...rev..limp..limp... engine over heating... ESC... DNF... the end.

Well, that was an epic event worthy of R2P. Quallied to the rear, 20th my usual...I praccy race set with fuel so I don't drag 2 sec off my times.
The start..hehe...didn't look around and see that I was back by the hairpin...after bumpin bumpers...and wading thru the fenders saw some actual grid markers on my way to LaSource....after working my way thru the first lap had Calin glued to my bumper. Yeah, I'd put my head down and not overdrive for a few laps but B/F(brainfade) would sneak in and I'd see him pull in the interval...(am I the only one who can't quit looking at it?).
Pitstopped at the halfway pt and tried to put in a hotout lap and on the run to Eau rouge saw Calin exiting. Dam! We went thru the next stint equally matched and waiting on the other to mess up. Didn't happen..(I'm finding that waiting for an R2P guy to just drive off is usually futile)
The blue flag guys were starting to fill my mirrors and sometimes tring to be a nice guy will bite u in the jewels.
Next to last lap Jose M comes up on my yello tired Porker into the Blanchimont and he goes wide or my looking too much in my mirrors we both end into the final chicane...me in the wrong gear that piggy bunny hopping on worn tires..(ya know that Hog just wanted to spin) Jose does the smart thing and goes across the concrete...I hug the hairpin and a 5sec lead vanishes as Calin is in my mirror and I can see his face!
Last lap I put my head down and manage not to hose myself and C'man and I race across the line...

That was one of the best R2P races I've been in and the PCC series in this format is a winner!

Grats to the podiuam and all for the good turnout!

I finished first lap with some scars but mostly unharmed, although some positions back from where I should have been. (P19 at the end of the firs lap)

Good race from them recovering several positions and taking advantage of a perfect pit stop. (Whoever designed the pit entry should be hanged)

Just a couple of notes: drivers should be aware of driving the first lap with full fuel and cold tires and brakes AND they should also wait a bit before they start chatting, it really bothers to the people still driving.

Terrible first lap (slow start, a few nudges), but found a nice rhythm during lap two. Had a setup that, if driven consistently and carefully, would go all the way. We'll never know however, as during lap 6: 'connection lost'....

Chuffed and gutted even if it doesn't seem possible...chuffed to hit my pre-race target of a race finish but gutted that I wasn't able to "race" for it thanks to a bizarre issue. Well done to the top 3 tho, looked like an epic battle was in progress when you thundered past me!

After all the pre-race hassle trying to get the track to load, I was chuffed to finally get the chance to compete at such a legendary track and had the added bonus of getting to select the car of an old friend from my Uni days, Emilio de Villota Jnr! With default I was able to notch up consistent 2.25's and once I figured oot what the top guys were doing, made one wee tweek to get into the low 24's so hoped to qualify and do battle just ootside the top 10. Noticed during practice that there were a couple of cars I couldn't see on camera...didn't think anything of it til I went out on track for qualifying and the track kept flickering and disappearing! Didn't know what the prob could be and didn't want to exit the server and miss the race so opted to start from the pits...again the track disappeared on the first lap and I actually had to stop til it reappeared...got going again but couldn't avoid Gavin's "moment" just before the final chicane so had to pit for repairs. Raced fine for a few laps, track intermittently disappearing for short intervals...got lapped early by the leading duo but it wasn't until the next group caught me that the track had another major flicker...once I was back in my own wee "bubble" aboot 10secs clear of anyone in front or behind, the track was fine and I was able to catch a couple of cars. Flickering was set off again when the leaders started pitting...raced fine for a number of laps behind Tony-Carl and also behind Tony Watts and Mr Bayless when they lapped me, but again had probs when the rest of the top 5 caught me, but again all came fine when they were far enough ahead. Never had this prob before in over 2 years of racing rFactor...hope it's not a sign of things to come!

P.S. Eau Rouge...WOW!!!

Well i dont know what to say really.

As a complete noob to real sim racing this was my first ever event. with a little help from other drivers i managed to get myself a safe setup.
was pretty nervous come qualifying and managed a surprising 7th start number. well at this point the nerves shot through the roof. after settling in for a few laps and having a goodfew battles with people i was really enjoying myself and on the 7th lap my left hand rear tyre started to go off early into the lap. as i came round to the pits i thought i would chance it....... and i said those dreaded words...... 'just one more lap'

that lap didnt ever get completed and as i plummeted into the bottom of Eau Rouge with the same conviction and poise and started to rise out the other side the back end (very slowly) broke away and it fired me into the pit exit area at a decent rate of knotts and my car decided that was that.

all in all an extremely fun (and addictive) new hobby

well done to the top boys, watched the race all the way through to the end and you had a good old ding dong about 3 laps from the end !

I had the same graphics problems as Scott. Not during the race but when trying to view the replay and afterwards in practice, and only on this track so far. Strangely in Windows 7 no such issues. My videocard is a Radeon 4870 512 MB.
