Indianapolis 250

Really hope you all had a great race. I was really looking forward to this one. Was in a great 4 way battle when we came up on a car laying sideways in the middle of the track. Had no where to go. Lost left front wheel and suspension, pulled to inside tried to head back to the pits, then engine died. Day over, after 4 laps. Really Dejected.

Damn what a shame.

Took pole and my setup was just superb. The safety car made a quick getaway and in my haste to get after it I spun. I then had to go to the back because i didnt keep pace with the safety car. It looks like i lost my rear wing but i didnt know it at the time. When the race started proper I had a huge accident so had to pit. Car took 6 mins to repair but i sat it out and rejoined 11 laps down. When I rejoined I noticed I couldnt draft and in fact was getting in peoples way. For some reason car would not rev as high as usual. Decided to quit before i became a hazzard.

man this was horrible. i was so excited for this race but it turned out to be a shame for me. got a driving too slow move to end of line after everyone locked their brakes up and then i spun it getting back on the gas, and then spun it a couple laps later in frustration. I'm a little disappointed with the races i've participated in lately. My racing experience has dropped dramatically since i've moved to my new apartment :( it makes me miss my old place. Man no more racing til tues :( well see you guys on tues.

should add a fun run or some kind of race. 3 days off is pretty hardcore

Anyone notice something odd when drafting. If another car is behind you getting a draft, your top speed increases too. That cant be right!

[Edit by TM:Yes John, that is accurate as the car behind actualy takes the "air" off your rear wing causing less drag.]

Wow really? Didnt know that.

Had a great car all day and started getting screwed by pit strategy cuz I didn't pit with some of the leaders on the first pit stop. Well because there were no cautions for another 20 or so laps, I had to pit and dropped to 5th. Then for the next 40 laps, I made my way back to 1st because everyone else had to pit for their final stop. Well, by this time I had no drafting partners and everyone else on the lead lap did so I was getting screwed and screwed some more each and every lap. I finally pitted for my last stop with 15 to go and as I was leaving, I spun around and my wing was knocked off. Tried to get back out to come around and back in the pits and I terminally killed it, ending my race.

I just do not get Oval racing strategy....

Well that was my first R2P race,just wanted to finish and not cause any trouble.Hope I didn,t,tried to let the leaders by clean.Wall sucked me in a few times.Had some damage from an incident early on.Went high to avoid and stuck to the wall.Finished 9th 4 laps down.
Was fun.

That was the Shizzz!! Can we do it again? I crashed on the 5th lap, my own fault. Touched the curb on the apex. I'm not used to rFactor, and didn't know how to escape out of the game. I sat on the track trying to figure it out when someone came along and hit me. I'm so sorry for that. I really enjoyed it even though I only made 5 laps. R2P, can we have more of these???

That was pretty exciting, but I hope we get a chance to race at Indy in something with a little less grip some time. The flat-out Talladega-style racing isn't nearly Indy at it's best IMO. It actually aggravates me a little bit... hehe. But then, I'm one of those nuts who liked to race GPL on ovals.

I think having this race at Indy every Memorial Day weekend would be a cool tradition to start here at R2P. Maybe not with the same cars (we'll probably have the CART mod by next year anyway, hehe :P) but the racing was still a blast...hell I would do it for 500 miles if we could :).

John, as Tim confirmed, that is a completely normal thing. :)
