Elise fun-run

The Elise's are always good fun. Now if we could just get back into a regular schedule with these and the Rhez like last season :P

Honestly I have to credit that win to John Dixon. He wasn't there, but I forced myself to pick up speed in these just as an attempt to try and hang with him :)

I was quite happy with that race overall, though I narrowly missed a podium.

The setup that I had practised with offline didn't work as the front tyres were overheating so the weather must have been hotter this race. Anyway I had to change the front tyres and therefore adjust some understeer out.

I qualified sixth which I was pleased with although I forgot to close the ducts and increase the rev limiter so I could have gone slightly quicker.

I had to rush some changes for my race setup between sessions and hope that they would work and so I erred on the side of caution with my changes.

I got a good start and made up a position. After this I was running behind Laferrier for many laps. I briefly got by on lap 1 but after that he was always between 1.5 to 3.5 seconds in front. It was a good battle even though I couldn't quite get close enough. Eventually he got a drive through - bad luck mate, you were fine when I could see you - and so I eased off for a comfortable fourth.

A couple of laps later I saw Bobby not too far in front. Regretting that I had eased off I went hard again. He made another mistake and it was obvious he had tyre problems but I had not quite enough time.

Well done to the Tommy, Theo and Bobby (just a couple more laps would have been good) and well done back-markers for a good race.

Fun race. It was my first Gtr2 race coming from rfactor and boy they feel different. Of course i practiced enough so no problem but still a new experience actually driving online ofcourse ;)

Onto the race. My start was ok and for the first few laps i kept up with Bobby and Tommy while they were battling for 1st. We build up a lead of about 7 seconds to 4th spot until about lap 9 or so when Bobby spun after the Villeneuve chicane. I tried to hang on to Tommy but it was hard work, and after lap 15 or so Bobby had got to me from 8s to 1,5s but then he ran in some more trouble and i could finish 2nd about 5/6 seconds behind.

Good fun, grats to Tommy for the win and thx everyone for racing :)

Yes, Elise's fun, as always. Even though I finished in the back, as I maybe only got 20 mins of practice time w/ only a few small changes to the setup, the race for 11th was fun and intense. The track was difficult, because of all those random chicanes, which made mistakes common to us less alien drivers. 11th, 12th, and 13th exchanged places alot, and had alot of fun doing such, even though I didn't do particularly well.

That was a terrific race.
Francesco and I had a pretty good battle going for 7th. We swapped places a couple of times. On the 19th lap, I was ready to make my move at the bottom of the hill and get past him on the short straight, but Francesco stopped much shorter than me and I accidentally tapped him off into the sand. That wasn't the way I wanted to get past him, so I pulled off on lap 20 and let him get his position back.
Francesco, I'm looking forward to trying it again next time.
These Elise fun-runs are a blast.

yes it was still fun in the back, sry for that spin david, looked like you got loose in that chicane and i couldn't check up, first race for me with the elise as well but it's a driver friendly car, lol. it's also hard to stay focused when your on the phone for a 1/4 of the race. great race all.

Great race as always with these little things, almost wish there was a single-make championship with custom skins for them....
Had a dreadful qualifying, where some of my old habits came back--namely making mistakes, being too careful-- so i was nowhere near my pace. Pity because my last two or three qualys at r2p had shown sign of progress.
The race started well, although i switched to mediums at the last second I was not too sure how they were going to behave. Also, as I had caught up (Bryan I believe) for 6th, my wife and my dog just burst into the room, with immediate effect of me landing in the kitty litter....grrrrrr, gotta get a bolt for the door.
Great, great race with Chris for 7th. At one point we even both ended up in the gravel independently! The battle continued with intensity. Some good passing and always close together. It was very gentlemanly of him to give the position back.

Yes, the racing at the back was fun. David and Scott were faster but I was just a tad more consistent - interesting dices between us and trying to stay out of the way of the cars lapping us. I went with med/soft tires and they went away after 15 laps. I am thinking how in the world am I going to hold off those guys for the last two laps, maybe I can do it for one, but certainly not for two laps. And then I got lucky....
