Elise fun-run

Great race for me. Started 6th and ran good laps. Followed Mark Carty for a while, as he was running good times and was catching Francesco Zargani. He and Francesco slowed just enough to let me by for 4th.

Russ I have to apologize , I was going to the right and thought you would still be on the gas and barely clipped your rear diffuser. I lifted and slowed but wasn't sure if it was you who went off or just more bumping. I did review the replay and have to say I am real sorry to Ed White for this was his first event at R2P and he got the brunt of it and also took to the gravel trap, sorry Ed and Russ, that's not my style.
Russ you drove well to catch back up and when I saw you in my mirror, I did lift to give you that spot on the easy.
Other than that I sucked, and couldnot get the car below a 2:10, .
Good race to all of the drivers and especially to the podium and my teammate Francesco for his fine finish.

Gregg with all due respect - thats raceing - totally enjoyed that event - and thanks to you so much for the pass room , letting off and letting me pass to give me back a position in the top ten was very cool -
i liked this track and had to fight back to gain positions !

Interesting running up front again after scrapping downfield the last few races. Different sort of challenge.

Was shooting for a 6 in Q, but the low 7 was good enough for pole. I usually run soft fronts on the Elise at this distance, but since they're very temp sensitive and unforgiving to overdriving I went safe and put med/meds on for the race. They turned out OK if a bit pushy early.

Was a bit unsure how to deal with having the lead from the start. Was watching the mirrors and thinking it looked fun in the tight train just behind me, so I wondered if I should slide back into that or just manage the gap to TC, who was very close on pace after a great start. Once I figured the fronts out, I settled on focusing out the front window and trying to get into the 7's on mediums in race trim. Only managed one, but did four 8.0's trying! ;-)

Once again, I find slow cars seem to suit me. You really have to be smooth with these things and you can't afford to slide them around - at all. They just don't have the grunt to make up for the speed you scrub off.

Uploaded the set for what it's worth; it's really more or less my default Else set with very minor tweaks for different tracks.

Qualied well, and really like the track. At the start I must have been sleeping because by T1 I was fourth. I kept up with the leading trio all the way to about mid race, when they slowly started getting away. Four laps from the end I felt my tires were shot, or I was. In anycase Mark Carty caught up with me, we battled it out and Paul Devine went through. On the second to last lap, in a hurry to get back to Paul I made my only mistake of the night and ended up in the gravel at the last turn. Game over but I will take the 6th, especially because it was fun (except for my stupid mistake).
I was glad to see my teamate Gregg Mulgrew back on the Elise ciruit after Dubai and also congrats to Russ Spencer on a great comeback. And ,of course, Steve who was brilliant.

What a great race! Elise's are always fun. What I really liked about this race was that I had no huge mistakes during the whole race, and look what happens, I get an 8th after starting 15th. Watched Gregg and Frank race for awhile, waiting for one of them, if not both to make a mistake, which they did not do for a bit. So eventually Frank pulled away from Gregg, and I was able to work Gregg for a little bit, which included an exciting drag race down the second straight away. A few turns later, he made a small slip, and I took advantage. By that time, Frank had a bit of lead, and I tried to catch up, fortunately for me, and unfortunately for him, he spun off into the gravel, letting me and others around him. Finally, I just began to cruise, but Les began to breathe down my neck the final several laps. But I was able to keep my distance and finish in a good position.
