TPSCC fun-run

Great race guys! Congrats Conor on the win! This was my first race with this mod, if you could not tell... :)

Couple of questions

1) Restart on lap 65 Tim instructed me to the inside, Every one lined up right behind me? was everyone a lap down to the leader, he was the only on I saw in the outside line?

2) I made a pit stop late in the race, and was speeding... :( Bad I know. I went to serve my penatly stop and go. Clicked yes to serve 10 seconds, but it also said (4 laps). Was I docked 4 laps, is this correct? Not argueing just clarifing for next time.

Sorry... part 2 to question 2... My first speeding in pit road was a pass thru and the second was a stop and go. Does it have to do with how fast you were going or how many time you were speeding?

oh man...that was a blast! Not only did I get my first stock car win ever, but sticking it to the site god (Tim) on the very last lap in the very last corner was even better :P. It was pretty cool to see us two road course junkies battling it out in a type of racing that neither of us have been apart of for quite a while :).

Just to get it out of the way, don't be surprised if Tim comes on here saying I wrecked him on the last lap for the win. Take a look at the replay and you'll seem him locking up his brakes and colliding into me...hehe

Good race guys, this stuff is pretty fun :).

Michael, yes to #1. Everyone was a lap down except for 1 guy. You did the right thing, lappers line up to the inside while lead lap cars line up in the outside line. #2 Im not sure about. I think the "4 laps" meant you had that many laps to complete your penalty or you will be DQ'd. Seems you got them taken care of so job well done.

First off, I have to thank Tim Leitz for the setup. It worked great Tim, once I figured out how to drive again. Made a few minor changes to stick the rear a little under braking, but otherwise a great setup.

The race itself I had no hope for. Im not oval racer and find little interest in it. Martinsville has always been my favorite oval track though as it is more like a very small road course then an oval. Once I figured out how to drive, I got lucky and nabbed pole out from under Conor. Did my normal thing at let Conor lead early on waiting for his young mind to wander leading to his crashing out (one day it is going to work I tell ya). After 10-15 laps Conor's pace slowed and I was reeling him in just fine. The confidence that I could get him in a tire battle was good, but we never did get to do a super long run with the 3 evenly spaced cautions during the race. I did have to work myself back onto the lead lap (a few times it seems) but it appeared we all did at some point.

Last 10 laps were a blast with Conor slapping my rear bumper every time we entered T3. He had already spun me out once earlier in the race and was trying the "bump-n-run" again and again, but now I knew how to deal with it. Finally on the last lap he takes the outside line and cuts down on my right-front... spinning me out in a different fashion! :-)

Na, I had driven so hard those final 10 laps that my right-rear was at 180c (350+f) and was locking up every time I used the brakes. I was barely in control anyway but man was it a blast to race like that. It's been 5+ years since I have run any oval races and this was a great one, thanks to all of you guys that participated. Lots of fun, and great driving from everyone.

Was trying to take it easy the whole race then pull it all out on the last restart. I was on the outside of Coner and Tim slipped up the track so I went for the hole and it closed up as I was in it... Oh well, im not liking this mod too much, seems like a port of nr03.

Up and down...Marty's never been a favorite track of mine, but I was able to make changes during the race to help the car, which was my primary goal. Making some small pressure changes, a round-and-a-half of wedge and a brake bias change took about 35 degrees off of the RF and evened up the RS temps after the tires settled in. Made a mistake getting into T3 too low and catching the curb while racing Eric and Larry, spinning the car. On a later caution, somehow got a stop n'go penalty for passing before reaching the pit entrance while the whole time following the car the game was telling me to stay behind onto pit road...oh well, ISI's never been known for their rules package...

To Michael's question, part 2 of 2 - the penalty may differ depending on whether you were speeding entering the pits (ie, before you reached your stall) or on exit (after you left your stall. I THINK that's the way the game enforces those rules, but I may be wrong.

Conor - to your question RE these things on road courses. They likely don't feel like anything else you've put on a road course. You'll see a lot more pitch and yaw than in most other mods...like I said, it'll feel like a garbage scow in a hurricane. Then again, it is a 3400 lb car on a course it was never designed to be on...

I had fun with this one. I cranked 1.5 on the wedge with the ai setup that was in the track folder and lucky for me the car was good.I guess I`m not doing too bad considering I don`t know jack about car setups and basically have to work with the default.Anyway,I raced hard and fair and everyone around me did the same so thanks.

Thanks for the insight with this mod on road courses, Greg. I may be a RC regular but I am a stock car fan so I have seen these things on road courses. And to be honest, it just doesn't seem right as the real cars don't seem to wander that much around corners. In the mod, I didn't notice that push of a 3400 lb car that I was expecting to feel on a normal road course...and if anything, the car was too loose! Maybe it just isn't that noticeable to the outside viewer :/
