Historic Le Mans Gallardo

I had a good Qualy. But it could have been better. At the start I really screwed up. I was for to long on the trotle witch resulted in to much wheel spin. Before I knew the car had spun into the grid. Sorry for all the people that crashed because of this.

A nice return to R2P! I was having some issues with setting up rFactor as I had just reformatted my PC a few weeks earlier. I was almost certain that I wasn't going to make it to the race but I got in 5 minutes before qualifying. Unfortunately I had no setup and no practice with this car on this configuration of the track. However, I have completed two 12 hour races in other leagues outside of R2P in the past 3 months. One of them was on the 79 configuration while the other was the newest iteration. I was able to adjust to the slight differences in the 91 version quite quick and had a general idea of where my braking points needed to be in order to ensure a good line through the corner.

I qualified 10th with a car that had massive stability issues in braking and corner entry, as well as being slow on the straights. I made a quick adjustment before the race but made the car a bit too understeery and low the the ground. The gearing was slightly off so I was slower on the straight but it worked out. I also fitted the medium tire compound instead of the softs. The car was predictable and stable..which is what I needed most at the moment.

The race started and chaos ensued with some cars suffering an immediate spin or locking up their brakes in the first few corners. This, along with some accidents and one disconnect, promoted me to third place within 2 laps. I eventually had to cede that place and was losing time to the cars ahead of me due to my setup choices. I eventually became more confident with the car and was able to fight up to 2nd.

A high attrition race that played in my favor. I wish I could have had a proper setup but I am definitely pleased with 2nd.

Took me an hour, but finally learned track and was cautiously comfortable as I finally completed a lap during Q. Had fun trying to get around Paulo for the 1st half and then being chased for the last half of the race by Glenn.

Disaster :P

I still wanted to practice and tweak the setup this afternoon after work but I got stranded there. I got in late and missed Qualy, had to ask help to the Norfolk guys and take their concentration away from their qualy (thanks a lot again folks, I'll try to never do it again). I should have given up the race when I was so late but this was a great series for me and I like the car so I was looking forward quite a bit for this one.

Since I was last on the grid I thought it'd be a good opportunity to try the launch control to see if it worked (I never trusted that thing). I doesn't (or it didn't) so I didn't have the most brilliant start. However, 1/2 of the grid didn't as well and I had a really good yet cautious part of the lap.

Unfortunately just before Indianapolis the rear end snapped. I have no clue what happened, the car was really stable for the rest of the race. Then I lost positions and concentration and ended up spinning a few more times and making one full lap without rear wing (oh, the speed!) until I came to pits and recomposed myself.

Then it became a Sunday drive around Le Mans. In the end... 9th is not even all that bad for this wacky race of mine.

Wasn't comfortable with this car/setup. Think I had on ok top speed, but braking was really nervous. Felt like front of the car was slower than the rear.. Over steering. But after some mistakes I at least finds my self more comfortable and manages to set better and better lap.... Climbing... utill I mange too put the car in the wall at the start of last lap :-(. Dropping at least two positions..

At least it was clean racing where I was driving.

Great time. Good fast racing,I decided to jump in this one cuz I haden't raced LeMans forever.My set was pretty good for Me,At first pretty unstable,It would take off and spin with no warning.Not in race though. I think four of us raced for several laps.Norling ran off from us about mid-race. And yes I think you had good top speed. I kinda suffered unless i caught draft,Ran rear wing at 6 put it on 3-4 and couldn't keep it on track. I wanted to finish race as priority.Last 4-5 laps I hounded Scott Ring,It was so fun,trying to out brake Him.He held me off,I tryd to get along side and cut under on the last lap. I must have locked up cuz I spun! LOL,It was good fun racing.
