Like many classic English race tracks, Goodwood Circuit began its life as or around an RAF base during the Second World War; it’s located in the south of England on the land of Goodwood House. Its run of major races came to an end in the mid-1960s, however in the late 1990s Goodwood has become associated with the hugely successful Festival of Speed and hosts numerous races with historic cars and motorcycles. Unfortunately Goodwood is also remembered for the track that ended the career of Stirling Moss. The 2.4 mile(3.8 km) clockwise circuit presents several challenges with turns like Madgewick and St Mary’s (which follows a very quick section), plus of course the very tricky chicane at Paddock Bend.
